The quality of your life and relationships is determined by your capacity to be with uncomfortable feelings.
About Me

In my early twenties, my life collapsed.
Childhood trauma, chronic pain, addiction, rage and confusion had shaped much of my inner world, and I reached a point where I could no longer keep trying to manage the symptoms.
I had tried many things, but nothing created lasting change.
The turning point came when I stopped trying to fix everything externally and began looking inward.
Through meditation, Self Enquiry and radical responsibility, I began to see the unconscious beliefs, emotional reactions and protective strategies that were driving my life.
What I now call the Survival Mind.
I discovered that real change wasn’t about controlling my thoughts, fixing my feelings or becoming a better version of myself.
It was about developing the capacity to remain present with what I had spent my life trying to avoid.
Over time, my relationship to myself changed.
The destructive behaviours softened. My health improved. My relationships transformed. And my sense of meaning returned.
I’m still a work in progress. For me, this is a life of enquiry.
For more than 15 years, I’ve shared this work with others because I know what becomes possible when we stop being driven by the Survival Mind and begin developing the capacity to live beyond it.

Our Story

Over ten years ago, Tess and I met.
Like many people, we both carried the unconscious patterns, emotional reactions and protective strategies that shape relationships.
We knew conflict.
Misunderstanding.
Defensiveness.
The familiar cycles that so many couples find themselves trapped in.
At the same time, we were both deeply committed to inner work.
As we continued exploring Self Enquiry, awareness and practice, something began to change.
We became less reactive.
Less driven by old patterns.
More capable of remaining present with ourselves, each other and the challenges that life inevitably brings.
The relationship became spacious rather than demanding.
What emerged between us felt different to anything we had experienced before.
The only way we could describe it was freedom together.
Over time, we realised that the same principles transforming our relationship were transforming the lives of the people we worked with.
That insight became the foundation of Freedom Together.
Today, Freedom Together is a community dedicated to helping people recognise the Survival Mind, develop the capacity to remain present with uncomfortable feelings and bring awareness into everyday life.
Because freedom isn't something we find.
It's something we practise.

Freedom Together
Freedom Together was created to support people in bringing this work into everyday life.
Because insight alone is rarely enough.
Most people understand their patterns long before they learn how to live beyond them.
That's why Freedom Together is built around practice.
Through Self Recognition, Self Enquiry, relational exploration and live integration sessions, members develop the awareness and capacity needed to navigate life and relationships with greater freedom, clarity and choice.
This is not simply a place to learn the work.
It's a place to live it.
A place to recognise the Survival Mind in real time, deepen your practice and walk the path alongside others committed to doing the same.
